Angie Speaks On How She Knew

Wedding Anniversary Date: July 14, 1984

How she knew her husband was the one for her:

"It's strange. I knew when I saw him across a very crowded dark room. Something about him made him stand out to me. I told my twin sister right then, 'You see that guy over there (and pointed him out)? I'm gonna marry him.' True story. So, in that, I feel like our marriage was somehow fated or preordained."

What she loves about his mind: Although he can be a brick head sometimes, he is not stupid. He challenges himself and others to do the best they can. I love that he is strong willed and strong minded; He's an excellent provider and hard worker; he has taught our kids about the importance of financial preparedness and also self-sufficiency through his actions, career choices, and even in his outdoors man hobbies.

What she loves about his body: I love his eyes and that he is a woolly mammoth. :)

What she loves about his spirit: Underneath a tough exterior, he can be generous, especially if he sees someone in need. Funny, God often puts him in place to be a Road Angel to help others who are stranded, need gas money, or help with a vehicle.

Angie's advice to single women about marriage:

"Ladies, make sure your prospective mate feeds your mind and soul, and not just your body. That old saying may be corny, but it's true: check out his friends and family because they will enter your circle of influence too. If there are lots of problems with those 'others', then it will be even more so after marriage. His associations really will affect your relationship...as will both of your views on spousal roles, money, children, and life priorities in general. It's really important in the long run to marry someone who shares your religious beliefs, especially after kids come along and everything's not all about what goes on in the bedroom. "
